Project Pretzel / Casting

Posted on March 7, 2018

There has been some big changes at 99 HQ this past year and we are super proud and excited to now offer motion casting to all our clients.

We moved into Nicholson Street Studios in beautiful downtown Brunswick East right next door to the best Pie Shop in town, to share a lovely light filled studio space with a group of like minded creatives. We also invested in and mastered some new film gear (under the guidance of our great Cinematographer buddy Mick Hurren) as well as design and built our very own customised casting back end system.

So, to celebrate we thought we’d do something fun and make a little promo clip called ‘Project Pretzel’ – because who doesn’t love Seinfeld right?

We enlisted the help of Melbourne’s finest model and talent agencies who kindly donated their time and talent to the cause and we spend a super long day in studio belly laughing at their reads of the infamous line ‘These Pretzels are making me thirsty.’ We were really grateful to meet so many talented folks over a busy day in studio.

THANK YOU to all the Agents and Talent – it really meant the world to us and to those not featured in the piece – we adored you too and keep an eye out on our @99casting insta account for your time in the sun.

Talent Credits (in order of appearance): Aston (Munchkins Talent) / Mila (Chadwick Models) / Luke (Ian White Management) / Michael (Real People Vic) / Azita (TOAB) / Josh (Street Cast) / Sally-Ann (Ian White Management) / Michelle (Ian White Management) / Daisy (Animal Extras) / Jen (Bella Management) / Paris (Centrestage Agency) / Jack (Centrestage Agency) / Erika & Raven (Bump Models)

Stay tuned for our next newsfeed update where we look forward to sharing some of the amazing content and TVC pieces we have cast already for SBS, TAC, Wallace Bishop, Melbourne Poly and ANZ – all thanks to our beloved regular friends and clients who helped us tailor our service – shout out to Christopher Tovo, Cos We Can, Carl J Sorheim and the lovely peeps at Guilty and Positive Ape for your guidance and feedback along the way.

Signature By Metricon / Production

Posted on March 1, 2018

Check out a few of our favourite shots and have a sticky beak at all the BTS action from our recent shoot for Metricon.

We pulled together just the perfect crew, cast and managed all the nuts and bolts of the shoot and produced some images that are as clean and inspired as the gorgeous homes we shot in. Such a dream client, cast and crew how lucky we feel to have been involved.

See some of the final shots here.

Melbourne Polytechnic / Casting

Posted on November 15, 2017

A very speedy turnaround was required to cast 20 diverse characters for this TVC and Stills campaign for Melbourne Polytechnic.

We sourced people from a huge range of avenues from model, acting and extras agents to street casting and social media callouts to make up a great cast who all delivered a fantastic performance on the day.

We were thrilled to have been given some amazing feedback from Director Christopher Tovo and the production team at Guilty Content and are so grateful for the opportunity to cast for such a cool ad.

Check out the final clip below.

TAC / ‘It’s People Like Us’ / Casting

Posted on September 21, 2017

It was a huge honour to be tasked with the casting of this TAC sponsored documentary created by the Taboo Group, Positive Ape and award winning director Eva Orner.

We worked closely with the courageous production team at Positive Ape to cast four unique, honest, lovable and relatable people brave enough to be featured as themselves as cameras shadowed their every move for a week.
