88. ANIMAL EXTRAS
Whenever we have a job with an animal – we flip. It’s our fantasy to produce a job for ‘Whiskas’ or ‘Pal’ one day and we bring our golden retriever Pippa to the office daily (she’s head of our welcoming committee here at HQ).
Recently we found a business that is hooked up in the ‘real dog’ department called Canine Walkers and Animal Extras. They have provided us with MANY brilliant pooches for out shoots this past year – such as Romeo who is the recent star of a top secret campaign (out soon).
So now you know who to ask if you need a pooch for your next stills shoot.

89. STYLIST DEB BOWEN
We know when we shoot with Deb it’s going to be nothing but the best, first class and we’ve really enjoyed working with her on Snooze for the past five years (among other things).
She’s imaginative, her style is ever evolving and she always has the client’s brief in mind first and foremost. Sounds fundamental but often a Stylists’ style can overshadow things and become distracting – when really, it’s our job to make the clients product absolute hero of the shot.
Deb is very well connected with the ‘prop loaning’ folk, and the good ones too and she brings options galore to every shot which the clients just love.
Aside from the styling stuff, it’s more than that with Deb – it’s ‘the vibe.’ She brings a warmth and happy energy to every shoot day and we’ve never seen her crack a hissy (and we’ve thrown some pretty big curve balls her way).
Suppose that all comes with the ‘years of experience’ thing – oh – and her god given gift of natural style.

90. MONDO STUDIOS / SYDNEY
We just got back from a couple of BIG and busy casting days at Mondo Studios in Sydders and just have to share the love – immediately.
We got a brilliant (last minute) casting rate but weren’t just shoved in a dark little corner but given access to one of their four lovely, well appointed daylight spaces.
If that wasn’t enough, every single person on the staff were SUPER friendly and helpful. They whipped us up some brilliant signage (complete with logos), got us some lunch when it was apparent we couldn’t get out and are just, well – happy helpful folk.

Top end models flown in from sydders, a cheeky fisherman, a bikini ready grandma, a dozen cheeky kids and babies, one crazy catalogue with four crews shooting at once, set builds galore, a gigantic fish, a handsome football player, a quaint country pier, a supercool food van and the mother of all post jobs….it’s been a busy winter at 99 Productions.
We’ve been so lucky recently to have worked with some top ad agencies and photographers on their shoots casting, scouting, permitting, retouching, scheduling and managing their productions – helping them get the best shots they can for their campaigns and catalogues.
91. PHOTOGRAPHER GARTH ORIANDER
OK it’s no secret that Garth is a 99 favourite. We’ve produced some ripper campaigns with him. He just makes the whole process enjoyable and relaxed – because he’s confident (not cocky).
Scary timelines, freaky clients, sooky toddlers or less than perfect weather are no problem for Garth, he’ll keep his cool and get the shot every time and a good shot no less.
He’s charismatic but not a ‘champ’ – just a normal, happy family man. Assistants LINE up to shoot with and if we had a dollar for every time we’ve heard “Oh, I love working with Garth,” we’d be loaded.
He’s a little cheeky himself so it’s no surprise he is best at those cheeky campaigns and shoots requiring some personality, but he’s handy in the studio shooting stills too.
92. PHOTOGRAPHER MARIJA IVKOVIC
Maj is an inspiration to all the ladies who dare to take on the blokes in the world of high end commercial photography. It’s not that she set out to do this (she’s never burnt a bra) – she’s just a born dynamo.
She’s Inspector Gadget (or Gadgette) with the gear, happy to break a nail (or a leg) lifting a wall flat and brings so much energy and laughter to every shoot day.
Maj was one of the first to convince us to back ourselves back in 2008 and we still enjoy producing for her when she needs us – she means a lot to us and her clients are fiercely loyal too.
Her photos are vibrant just like her personality and she’s also just re-vamped her website to show a more diverse range of her talents. Maj shoots everything from fashion to portraits and even food – you have to try her out!
93. PRODUCER JULIA GOLDIE
We had to save a spot in the Top 99 for one of our own on one of her finest productions ever.
Congratulations to Snr Producer Julia Goldie (AKA : Agent 66) on the birth of her baby boy Tuck Sullivan.
True to her usual form, Julia is managing it all in her stride AND is fully able to conduct a meaningful conversation mid-scream as well (the mark of every great Producer).
While Tuck has taken Julia away from us for now, we are designing a cot/desk (George Costanza style) as we speak and hope to welcome Julia back to our pre-production team at 99 HQ real soon.
94. ANTHONY JARVIS STYLIST
We first met Anthony ten years ago on-set for Myer styling up a storm in his footy shorts and wondered – is that guy REALLY a Stylist? Bloody oath he is and now he’s on the 99 speed dial.
Anthony (J-Man) Jarvis is not only the funniest fellow we know (you’ll spend the day in stitches), but he is also one very talented bastarfff…felllow.
Some Stylists are just good at shopping (and we know that’s good too so no offence to you lot) but we love someone who expands on the idea as well as finding ‘the stuff’ for it – and that’s what you get with Anthony.
He’s a hard worker too and PERFECT for those quirky advertising campaigns (and kids shoots which he attends wearing his Dorothy the Dinosaur tail – true story).
